Troubles at Mosque - Jerusalem

A number of Israeli policemen and Palestinian protestors have been injured in violent skirmishes in Jerusalem.

At one point, Israeli soldiers entered the area surrounding the al-Aqsa mosque (pic'd here) firing tear gas and stun grenades.

Police said 15 police officers and 17 protestors had been hurt, none seriously. 17 arrests were made.

The protest at Islam's third holiest site was sparked by renovation work on Temple Mount, which Palestinians say could damage the mosque's foundations.
