Sisters Out - Vatican Order!!

The Vatican has confirmed the expulsion of a group of nuns involved in a contentious dispute within their Polish religious order.

The Congregation for Religious has issued a decree stating that the women religious now living at a convent in Kazimierz Dolny are no longer members of the Sisters of the Family of Bethany.

A conflict had erupted within the religious order when the sisters at Kazimierz Dolny refused to recognize a prior decree from Rome, calling for the removal of the order’s mother superior.
The ousted superior, with some members of the congregation, then took up residence at the convent in Kazimierz Dolny.

Last January, Archbishop Jozef Zycinski of Lublin-- in whose archdiocese the convent is located-- forbade the celebration of the sacraments at the Kazimierz Dolny convent.
In August a Vatican official-- Sister Enrica Rosanna, the undersecretary of the Congregation for Religious-- visited the convent to investigate, meeting with both the current and former mother superiors and other women religious involved in the dispute.

The latest decree from the Vatican confirms the removal of the former mother superior, together with her followers at the Kazimierz Dolny residence.
Archbishop Zycinski has written to the residents of the Polish town, asking for special prayers for the sisters who have been disciplined.
