Media Resposible for Underage Sex - RC Bishops (Kenya)

Catholic Church now accuses the media of overexposing the youth through electronic and print images leading to children as young as 12 years engaging in sex.

The church wants the government to tighten laws guiding the media on what to publish or put on air.

However, the church is also asking parents to discuss sex matters with their children at early age to ease the urge of learning from other sources.

Revelations that majority of youths are engaging in early sex has galvanized experts and churches into a flurry of activities in trying to understand the root cause of the worrying trend.

The Catholic Church has condemned the involvement in pre- marital sex by young people.
Father Maloba Wesonga, the Arch diocesan secretary of Nairobi Diocese says young people must wait for the right time to have sex with their life partners.

A sex survey by Infotrak, reveals a shocking trend whereby many girls are engaging in sex by the time they are 16 years.
