3rd Catholic Church Burnt - Ukraine

KIEV, Ukraine (Interfax) – A stone Greek Catholic church burnt down at the Dobrovlyany village near Ivano-Frankovsk, the press service of the Ukrainian Emergency Ministry has reported.

There were no victims in the Jan. 29 fire that destroyed the property, the wooden floors and the walls.

It took an hour and a half to extinguish it. Its causes and the damage are being investigated.

It has been already a third fire in Greek Catholic churches in Ukraine for the last six weeks.

In late December, some unknown persons burnt down a wooden church at the Novye Bezradichi village near Kiev.

A month later a Greek Catholic church built in 1873 burnt down in the Lvov region. The fire was caused by violations of fire safety rules in electricity supply network.
